THG - Through Time

Hayffie through time: 50th Games, 74th Games, and finally post-Rebellion.

I’m kind of in love with the evolution of the Hayffie relationship so I really wanted to do a piece like this! Young Haymitch’s look is based on the fanmade Second Quarter Quell except with lighter hair and young Effie is this cute little Capitol girl rooting for the boy from District 12 to win. Fast forward several years and Effie becomes District 12’s new escort. They hate each other at first but with years and shifting perspectives, come to a quiet understanding and when it counts, they manage to work quite well as a team (especially during the 74th & 75th Games).

Then the rebellion comes along and everything goes to hell and they’re forced apart. She’s locked up by her own people and tortured while he’s in Thirteen trying to help the Mockingjay lead the revolution. Haymitch persuades Coin to launch a rescue mission and Effie is among the people saved, except once they get back to Thirteen, Coin wants Effie dead because she’s a Capitol citizen. Haymitch and Plutarch have to fight hard to keep her alive. Effie recovers in Thirteen while Haymitch continues with the rebellion. Months later, when it’s all finally over and the old government is in shambles, Coin and Snow both dead, Haymitch offhandedly offers Effie to stay with him in District 12. She accepts.
